We could not have asked for a more beautiful autumn day in Virginia for Ally and Conner’s SECOND wedding. That’s right, this couple already sealed the deal on September 24, 2021 with only their immediate families present. Read more about this and their love story from our engagement session last year.

For their BIG day, they chose the stunning reception site of  The Riverview at Occoquan. The foliage was peak and the reflection of fall colors on the river was spectacular! The modern architecture of the site with the natural beauty of the river and foliage left nothing to be desired as far as venues go. 

We began our day here for details, and Ally was just as gorgeous in her Juicy couture, as her wedding dress. She went from channeling her inner J Lo. to Grace Kelly elegance in her Justin Alexander romantic, off shoulder, A-line dress. The “modern leafy lace appliqués” of the bodice and skirt were the perfect addition to the foliage backdrop Even the fallen leaves tried to add themselves to the applique . 

Outside we shot the first look where Ally stole Connor’s heart all over again. Through the couple’s teary-eyed letters to each other we learned of their friendship, their ability to make each other feel safe and confident, and their unwavering support for one another. All this and more were evident throughout the day. 

Gift exchanges meant wardrobe adjustments were necessary as we found their looks were not complete. A dazzling pair of David Yurman earrings from Connor and an updated watch from Ally. Their appreciation for one another as well as the gift giving is further evidence of the love and adoration the couple shares. 

After lovely couples’ portraits it was time to load the party bus, courtesy of Reston Limousine, and head to the ceremony site at Saint Rita Catholic Church in Alexandria. This wedding party was So. Much. Fun! The Swifties were belting out the lyrics to all their faves, while the guys “threw their hands up on the back of the bus.” This couple showed that they truly are best friends, enjoying every moment together! 

Following the lovely ceremony, an extensive list of family portraits were underway with exceptional ease thanks to the help of some key family members (I’m looking at you Maria ☺) Mallory, with All The Dainty Details planning helped transitions to and from Reception site to Ceremony site and back again run smoothly. We were back on the bus in no time where the party officially started. More Tay-Tay mixed with some “thunder” from AC/DC got everyone fired up and in party mode while Mallory passed the bevies around. Did I mention this wedding party was So. Much. Fun! 

We arrived back at The Riverview at Occoquan for wedding party and couples portraits, a gorgeous golden and cocktail hour, followed by a lovely dinner provided by Great Blue Heron with Nova Parks Catering. Toasts from Maids of Honor, E.P. and Carrie and Best Man, Hunter told us how much fun Ally and Connor have together, make each other better people, and how much each of them is loved by the other. Dances with Ally and her dad, Connor and his mom, and a first dance from Ally and Connor led us into the full dance party that ensued once DJ Craig Wood got the music on and poppin’. There were more Swifties singing, more dancing, and more FUN! A cake cutting and spread of sweets from Signature Sweets by Amanda followed by a final couple’s portrait under the lights in front of the venue rounded out our evening. 

Congratulations and thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Sellars, for such a FUN night! You all know how to have a GOOD time! It was such an honor to serve you.
