It seems like it was much too long ago that Ally and Connor booked their wedding package with me until their engagement session. So needless to say, I was excited when the day finally came! Ally and Connor also chose to do their engagement session at Oatlands Historical Home and Gardens, one of my favorite places for an engagement session! These two were so much fun and I just love their entire session and how it turned out.

But there’s a surprise…Ally and Connor are already married! So why the engagement session and upcoming wedding? Keep reading to hear their love and proposal story and why they will finally be able to have their big wedding day next year in the states!

From Ally’s perspective:

“Connor and I met just over 4 years ago thru my cousin and we clicked immediately. We were long distance for awhile since Connor lived in Toronto and I lived in DC. We spent so many long weekends together getting to know each other and then when COVID hit we were able to spend extended periods of time together since I wasn’t traveling for work anymore and everything was shut down for him too.

Connor and I are already married and we had been planning our elopement for a few months prior to his proposal so we could start the visa process so Connor could officially move here. I always knew it was coming but I never knew when. He would plan events throughout the week / weekend and it really kept me on my toes.

One night after we had a date night at Swinger (golf, of course), i was reading over some emails for work and Connor is yelling from the other room that Archie (one of our beloved kitty cats) had something for me and Connor proceeded to get down on one knee and proposed (with a little help from Archie)! On September 24, 2021 Connor and I got married with our parents and sibling in attendance but now we are excited to celebrate with our friends and family in November 2023.”

And Connor agreed with Ally’s retelling: “We met thru Ally’s cousin Melissa who is engaged to my college roommate. We connected well and we eventually got married. I knew I was going to propose but wasn’t sure exactly when or how but I wanted to include our cats for her.”

I can’t wait to serve them next year as well at their big wedding day!
