"Walden Hall, a wedding venue located in Culpeper County,  Virginia, offers a literary-inspired space for couples to exchange their vows. Named after Henry David Thoreau’s famous Walden, this farmland property allows couples and their guests to slip away to the serene Virginia countryside. Here at this farm, couples will be surrounded by 10 acres. Even though the setting is quite private, you will be able to easily access downtown Charlottesville, Culpepper, Madison, and Washington D.C." - Walden Hall

With several unique ceremony locations on the grounds, you're sure to find one perfectly tailored for your day. As you walk the grounds, I’ll capture photos that will grace your home for decades to come. I will record your preparations in the bridal suite and groom's lounge as well as capture images of you dancing for the first time as husband and wife in the Banquet Barn.

And you’ll always remember how beautiful your day truly was at Walden Hall.

"Imagine your wedding day at a luxurious boutique bed and breakfast just north of Charlottesville, Virginia complete with a salt water pool, gorgeous grounds and a separate reception hall. Welcome to one of the most romantic Virginia wedding venues. Welcome to Walden Hall." - Michelle Lieb of Lieb Photographic

“No Place like Home!”

"With Walden Hall, you check in and have an entire, amazing wedding experience versus other venues where you may only rent for a few hours during the ceremony and reception. If you are looking for the perfect place to get married, somewhere where you can check in, relax, unwind, and have a beautiful wedding ceremony, then look no further!"

“perfect venue!”

"From the moment we drove up to Walden Hall for our tour, we knew that this was the place we were going to get married. Then we went on a tour and saw the beautiful house and barn and were completely sold! Walden Hall is a truly magical place. What truly sets it apart are the many sites throughout the property."

Should we both get ready at Walden Hall?

The ladies can prepare for the day in the Whitman suite. The men can prepare for the day in the groom's lounge, complete with pool table. View some great use of the preparation areas HERE!

Where do you recommend taking our family portraits?

My favorite locations for family portraits are in  front of the pond and the side of the house. However, I'm open for other locations so long as the lighting scenario is complimentary. View a wedding with multiple family portrait locations HERE.

What time should we schedule our ceremony to begin?

I work very closely with you and your wedding planner to ensure that you start your ceremony with enough time for the images prior as well as time for golden hour portraits and a steady reception start time. Before you set a start time, let's chat about sunset for your time of year and your wedding day priorities. View a perfectly time wedding day HERE.

What if it rains on my wedding day?

No one wants rain on their wedding day! But if it does rain, your day will still be perfect and your images will be stunning! I have photographed on rainy days at Walden Hall and I know all the choice locations as well as plan B, C, D and E! Your day will still be as lovely as ever. View highlights from a partially rainy wedding day at Walden Hall HERE.

Should a bride consider bridal portraits at Walden Hall?

A thousand times YES! A bridal portrait session provides the opportunity for a bride to prepare for her Big Day with a private session devoted just to her. Bridal portraits do not always happen at golden hour on the wedding day, so a session months prior to the big day provides those gorgeous images in the prettiest light of the day. And they make the BEST surprise wedding day present for the groom! Peruse some of my favorites HERE.

Do you recommend any other vendors at Walden Hall?

Yes I do! I have a wonderful and exclusive list of preferred wedding professionals. Many of them are familiar with Walden Hall. I provide all of my booked couples with a comprehensive online bridal guide complete with preferred professionals. I'm glad to help match you with the vendors who could be the perfect fit for your style and budget. Find out more about my process HERE.
