Washington D.C. wedding venues are some of the most frequented places in the country for potential wedding venues. For those who are looking for the majestic monuments and National landmarks to grace the background of their photos, hosting a Washington D.C. wedding is a must.

Washington D.C. boasts dozens of urban wedding venues as well as gardens, each with their own measure of sophistication and elegance. And don't forget nearby Baltimore as well! Inner Harbor has all the feel of the waterfront as well as the industrial love of "Charm City."

And as you walk the grounds of your perfect venue, I’ll capture photos that will grace your home for decades to come. I will record your preparations, your first look, your family...as well as capture images of you dancing for the first time as husband and wife in your reception space.

And you’ll always remember how beautiful your day truly was at your Washington D.C. or Baltimore wedding venue!

THE PERFECT VENUE

"Imagine your wedding day in the heart of the Nation. Welcome to Washington D.C...the perfect place to tie the knot for those who love the city."
- Michelle Lieb of Lieb Photographic

There are so many incredible venues close to the White House, the Capitol and the Supreme Court. From the Hay Adams to the DAR and the Mayflower to the Capitol View at 400...you can host your Washington D.C. wedding in the heart of the city. Check out the Venue Report for more ideas on venues!

Baltimore is a wonderfully diverse place for an engagement session and a wedding. From Fells Point to the Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park Museum and form the George Peabody Library to the Baltimore Museum of Art...a Charm City Wedding is not to be missed!

The Capitol View at 400

"The Rooftop at 400 N Capitol is Washington’s premier rooftop venue featuring spectacular views of the U.S. Capitol, Union Station and The Washington Monument. And when the sun sets and the monuments light up the view, it's even more spectacular. From this vantage point you feel like you can reach out and touch the sky and marvel and the beauty that is Washington D.C.!"

Should we both get ready at our venue?

FAQ

Absolutely! If your venue has a lovely bridal suite and groom's lounge, I highly recommend it. I also recommend keeping the area clean and full of natural light for the preparation photos. If not, then there are incredible bridal suites at many local boutique hotels. View some beautiful images of the bride getting ready at Shadow Creek Weddings HERE!

A FEW OF my MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT photographing Washington D.C. Weddings

Where do you recommend taking our family portraits?

I will give you the opportunity months prior to your wedding day to give me feedback for your preferred locations. I always do a site visit and preferably a walk-through for venues at which I have yet to photograph. My favorite locations for family portraits involve the most lovely spots with the most complimentary lighting scenarios. View a wedding with multiple family portrait locations HERE.

What time should we schedule our ceremony to begin?

I work very closely with you and your wedding planner to ensure that you start your ceremony with enough time for the images prior as well as time for golden hour portraits and a steady reception start time. Before you set a start time, let's chat about sunset for your time of year and your wedding day priorities. View a perfectly time wedding day HERE.

What if it rains on my wedding day?

No one wants rain on their wedding day! But if it does rain, your day will still be perfect and your images will be stunning! I have photographed on rainy days and even in hurricanes! I will scout out all the choice locations at your venue and familiarize myself with plan B, C, D and E! Your day will still be as lovely as ever. View highlights from a rainy wedding day HERE.

Should a bride consider bridal portraits?

A thousand times YES! A bridal portrait session provides the opportunity for a bride to prepare for her Big Day with a private session devoted just to her. Bridal portraits do not always happen at golden hour on the wedding day, so a session months prior to the big day provides those gorgeous images in the prettiest light of the day. And they make the BEST surprise wedding day present for the groom! Peruse an example HERE. And be sure to search the blog for "bridal portraits" to see many more.

Do you recommend any other vendors?

Yes I do! I have a wonderful and exclusive list of preferred wedding professionals. Most of them are familiar with Northern Virginia vendors. I provide all of my booked couples with a comprehensive online bridal guide complete with preferred professionals. I'm glad to help match you with the vendors who could be the perfect fit for your style and budget. Find out more about my process HERE.
