Eric proposed to Lauren at a winery after the perfect planning and enlisting some help from his friends. So it makes perfect sense that they tied the knot on a perfect day in May at Mountain Run Winery in the same hometown where they both first met.
I first spent significant time with Lauren and Eric during their engagement session at the Great Marsh Estate. It was was a fitting location as Eric’s last name is Marsh! They were an incredible couple to photograph and it was evident that they were a perfect match.
Lauren is an immaculate planner and did such a wonderful job that she was as calm as is possible for a bride on her wedding day. She prepared for the day with her bridesmaids on site and enjoyed a relaxing preparation time before the ceremony began. Her palette for the day consisted of ivory and blush with deep maroon accents, complimenting the tiger lilies in her bouquet.
Lauren looked absolutely lovely as she prepared for her day. She had the most delicate veil to compliment her stunning Kenneth Winston gown. And that pop of color on her lips reflected the bouquet as well!
As I made my way outside with Lauren and her Maid of Honor, Brittany, we had the most unwelcome surprise. A long black snake slithered it’s way beside us and off into a field! Fortunately, the unwanted guest stayed away for the rest of the day, but it certainly perked us all up, which only added to Lauren’s excitement during her bridal portraits.
Lauren was simply stunning as she twirled her way through her bridal portraits. She mastered everything from giddy to sultry!
I photographed Lauren with her lovely ladies, including her gracious maids, mom, mom-in-law and grandma.
Eric also prepared for his day on site, so naturally, we were careful not to let them see each other. He donned a hearty boutonniere and tie that mirrored the wedding day palette.
His men were also ready and by his side, looking as dapper as ever.
The ceremony site was beautiful…a rustic elegance that captured Lauren’s palette exactly. As the guests arrived, they were seated and the ceremony was set to begin.
Lauren and Eric had planned for Eric to turn around once Lauren was in position so he would have a closer view of her for the first time. What a special idea it was! Lauren’s brother walked her down the aisle and it wasn’t without tears from some of the onlookers.
It was a beautiful ceremony, carefully planned by Lauren and Eric and executed by Mary C. Sullivan fo Say Yes VA who was truly excited to see these two tie the knot!
After the ceremony, it was time for bridal party and family portraits and this group did not disappoint!
After the group portraits, Lauren and Eric spent time with us gracing the grounds of Mountain Run Winery for their romantic portraits together. These two have so much chemistry and it’s evident they are the best of friends as well. Their time was full of romance, joy and lots of vines!
They made the most of the winery, the veil, and their tenderness with each other. It felt like we had stepped into a romantic fairy tale wedding!
And doesn’t Lauren look lovely in the middle of these vines?!! Eric is rather dashing as well!!!
The reception was held at the Reva Vol. Fire Department as Eric is a firefighter himself. As the evening continued with some toasts and special dances, one of my favorite parts of the evening was when Eric’s best man, John, toasted the couple. His words hit our heartstrings as he said that Eric has always been his “best man.” Cue the tears!!!
As the reception continued, there were several special danced including one with Lauren and her brother. Of course, the cake cutting was extra “sweet” as well!
And golden hour was spent with these two with the view of the blue ridge in the faint distance.
Of course, we also had to take advantage of the fire truck, and Eric pulled it out just enough for us to take some epic shots!
As Eric and Lauren danced the night away with their friends and family, the room was full of joy! So many celebrated along with them.
Congratulations Lauren and Eric! Thank you for the honor of capturing your big day and thank you to these cool cats who helped make Lauren and Eric’s day so extra special! Be sure to continue scrolling to see more highlights from their Big Day at Mountain Run Winery!
