Stella and Jamie planned a lovely wedding day in coastal Maryland at the Swan Point Yacht and Country Club on a Spring day in April. I have enjoyed getting to know a bit about Stella and Jamie as a couple and I love the down-to-earth, approachable atmosphere they have when together. They are so likable and easy to be with and are pleasantly different in personality and interests and yet have so much in common. I first met them in person at their engagement session at Swannanoa. I begin photographing a few details of their day prior to Stella and Jamie arriving at Swan Point. The club boasts a nautical and yet Southern charm and backs up to the banks of the Potomac River. After photographing them individually, my second shooter and I recorded their very sweet first look by the water. It was already a windy, grey and cloudy day but their warmth and love made it hardly noticeable!

We photographed some bridal party and group family portraits before heading to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Plata for their ceremony. The impending storm that spawned a tornado earlier not too far from my home, didn’t burst open until we were all cozy inside of the church! Once in the church, Stella and Jamie were officially married.

Upon return to the venue, the rain was still coming down but at a much slower pace. The reception was cozy with some candlelight and after introductions, everyone sat down to the meal. The rest of the evening was filled with some cake cutting and wonderful toasts as well. I loved hearing about Stella and Jamie from their friends and family and seeing Stella’s dad fight back the tears as he spoke of his beloved daughter.

Stella and Jamie also posed for a bubble exit with their wedding party and a bubble machine!

It was such a wonderful day and Stella and Jamie were gracious hosts while enjoying the day together and with their family and friends. Congratulations Stella and Jamie! It was such an honor to serve you.
