This has already been an incredible wedding season with Laura and Matt tying the knot in Culpeper and then Alyce and Nate at the Inn at Mount Vernon Farm in Sperryville. Seriously, folks, words are not enough!
This is just such a sweet couple and I am so honored to have been a part of their day along with such an incredible team! First, Stephanie Messick of Stephanie Messick Photography photographed with me. Not only is she one of the most incredible photographers in Virginia (heck, the country) but she is also a former student from my LHS days AND a friend. Her ability to put her own needs aside and simply serve others is incredible. She is kind, offers help, laughs whole-heartedly and always offers an encouraging smile. She manages to round up families with ease and make everyone feel comfortable and happy. Having her with me was invaluable! And to make things even better, we were joined by the incredible planning services from the Girls at Main Street who also provided the gorgeous florals and floral crown! Enlightened Styles crafted Alyce’s hair and make up, Geppettos Catering rocked the linens and food and Ellie’s Bridal is the source of Alyce’s incredible La Sposa gown. What a team!
From the moment I met Alyce and Nate, I knew they were a perfect fit for each other. Their tenderness and soft glances, their obvious adoration of each other and their romance graced by a solid friendship and faith became evident in the first minute we spent together! And then their engagement session! Oh my! What a time in DC we had visiting the memorials and recording their authentic love. I could hardly wait for their Sperryville wedding.
Alyce and Nate actually first met on a business trip. They stayed in touch even though they lived far apart. Eventually they knew without a doubt that they had to be together.
So one day Nate surprised Alyce by arriving early for a planned visit, and couldn’t wait to ask her to marry him. He had written a very revealing and tender letter that he read to her before proposing. He planned an extravagantly wonderful weekend to celebrate.
Those same special skills Nate has in describing his beloved were on display during their ceremony when their officiant shared Nate’s and Alyce’s words to and about each other. Everyone laughed, cried and oohed and ahhed over their words. Even before eating at the reception, they shared just how much they love their friends and family and believe me, it was not without tears and smiles.
Every detail and every moment of this wedding was incredible and it was so hard for me to even narrow down which images to share. Alyce describes her style as a refined rustic with lambs ear green, creamy blush/pink and metallic and deep fig and pink accents. I couldn’t have said it better. But what I think is remarkable about her style is how much it reflects these two as a couple. That is a truly classic wedding…when the heart of the couple is reflected in every detail, every moment and even the guests. Thank you Alyce and Nate for the honor of photographing your big day! What a joy it has been!
