Nick and Chelsea had no easy task planning their wedding day while Chelsea was finishing her surgical residency and Nick had a torn achilles heel! But in the middle of appendectomies and a healing heel AND with the help of some wonderful wedding pros, Chelsea and Nick hosted the most incredible Airlie wedding day! The weather was perfect, as was their day.

Nick and Chelsea’s Washington DC engagement session was only weeks before the wedding day but they were so calm and collected and we had a wonderful time and a beautiful session! So it was no surprise that when I arrived at Airlie, Chelsea was enjoying her time with her ladies. They were all so much fun and so supportive, including Chelsea’s mom and her aunts. After a bridesmaid/mom dress reveal, it was time for the day to get going.

Nick also enjoyed some time with his guys and engaged the videographer in creating some fun entrance and exit cinematography. After Chelsea shared a first look with her dad, Nick and Chelsea shared the sweetest first look in the Butterfly Gardens at Airlie. We also strolled the grounds in the formal gardens, Spanish Steps and the bridge for some romantic couples’ portraits.

The ceremony in the formal gardens was so lovely and it was evident that they were both grateful for how they met in college, but Nick was quick to point out that he would have found Chelsea even if they didn’t meet there. After saying “I do,” they enjoyed a wonderful time at cocktail hour and soon the reception began!

The reception was wonderful in the Airlie pavilion and golden hour was breathtaking! Between the special dances, toasts and cut caking, their friends and family filled the dance floor and the photo booth without hesitation. And the evening was rounded off with a sparkler exit as they made their way to Harry’s.

I’ve been enjoying seeing images of Chelsea and Nick on their honeymoon in Bora Bora and New Zealand since the wedding and I can’t wait for them to see all of their wedding day images! It was such a wonderful day and they were such welcoming hosts! It was such an honor to serve Chelsea, Nick and their families.
