The excitement leading up to Katelyn and Freddy’s Big Day was palpable! It has been such a joy to serve these two since day one. From their beautiful beachside engagement session up to my final zoom meeting with Katelyn and her mom, every step of the way has been fun and full of anticipation. Their love story is unique as is the fact that their church and venue are the same locations of Katelyn’s parents’ wedding years ago! Katelyn and Freddy’s special love and proposal story is featured in their Whalehead Club engagement session post and is not to be missed!
The day was truly incredible, with the loveliest of bluest hues in their details and all kinds of excitement amongst the women and the men as they all prepared for the day. The earlier part of the day included bridal portraits as well as groom portraits and a special first look between Katelyn and her dad. Katelyn also shared a special dress reveal with her bridesmaids and I loved their reactions!
After separated wedding party portraits, we travelled to St. John’s Catholic Church in Warrenton for the ceremony, where Katelyn and Freddy saw each other for the first time that day as Katelyn was escorted down the aisle by her father. Katelyn and Freddy were wed and left the church ahead of the guests with the biggest smiles on their faces!
My second shooter and I followed them in their Dodge 1946 Classic, provided by Camelot Classic Cars and we stopped at several places along the way at Airlie for photos before making it back to the Spanish Steps for group portraits. After some newlywed couples’ portraits, Katelyn and Freddy made their entrance into cocktail hour.
Soon it was time for the reception to start. It was evident that their families value family immensely and the reception was filled with heart-warming and tear-jerking toasts, as well as cake cutting and LOTS OF DANCING. Did I mention…LOTS OF DANCING?! And I concluded my portion of the evening by documenting their sparkler exit before they made their way to Harry’s.
But I think one of my favorite parts of the whole day was their toasts to each other at the reception. Allow me to share just a few snippets.
“…I love your big heart, that cares immensely for not just me, but for all of those around you, including everyone in this room. Thank you for always making me laugh and smile with the continuous quirky dad jokes (they somehow never get old)…I promise to always be there for you, to help you when you need it, to be your biggest supporter, your adventure partner, and to be your best friend forever. I love you Freddy…”
“…I love how cute you are. I love your cute nose. I love your hair and I love finding them in random places, especially when we are apart. I love how beautiful you look tonight…I love that we can bond over ice cream and beer and hope we can continue this past an age where this is socially acceptable, which I think is actually never….I love how good you are with others and how well you get along with anyone you are introduced to. I love your kindness and how you are always looking for ways to help people…I love you so much Katelyn and I can’t wait for the rest of our life…”
It was such an honor to serve these two alongside their family and friends. Congratulations Katelyn and Freddy!
And thank you to these incredible wedding professionals for making their day so very special! KEEP SCROLLING for highlights from their Big Day…
