It’s no secret that all of my 2017 recaps are churning out slowly…but this is one that I have wanted to post and started but just didn’t have a chance to finish.  So today I want to share 17 emotional moments from 2017…all par of my “10 and 17 blogs of 2017.”  So how do you go about choosing emotional images to post when very wedding must have dozens of them?  I don’t know!  A little bit randomly and a little bit by what really sticks out in my head…that’s the exact science of it. The point is, all of my couples had so many great moments on their wedding day…let’s just look at a few!

I think it’s safe to say that Alex was overjoyed when he saw Lauren at their first look!  We were good acquaintances before the wedding and it has been so fun to grow in our friendship after their Rixey Manor wedding!

I love the fact that Abby’s sister Emily had this reaction during Abby and Shashtri’s first look.  Abby and Emily are such close sisters and this was such a special, emotional day for Emily as well!

The bond between a loving father and daughter is so special as well!  Mollie’s dad couldn’t help tear up when he saw his daughter on her wedding day at Walden Hall!

Sam was overwhelmed when he saw Hayley for the first time on their wedding day at Brandy Hill Farm!

Anne’s girls were so excited to see her and Jon tie the knot.  Their priceless expressions and hugs continued throughout the day and I was honored to capture them at their Airlie wedding!

It was an incredible moment when David pledged his love and commitment not only to Katy but to her daughter as well as he said his vows during their Fourth of July wedding at Rixey Manor.

Howie was a pastor, a teacher, a painter, and a friend.  And he was a beloved father and husband.  He and Abby shared a very special dance followed by this embrace…

I prompted Sam to tell Emily something (I will keep that a secret) and her reaction was priceless.  Their faerie tale wedding at Rixey Manor was unforgettable!

Nicole and Cory not only shared a first look, but also wrote letters to each other to read AFTER the first look!  IT was a beautiful and special moment at their Inn at Meander Plantation and I would love to see other couples do this as well!

Chris’ attempt to pull himself together before seeing Megan walk down the wooded aisle did not go unnoticed!

Trevor’s expression watching Meghan walk down the aisle was also priceless…and ladies…your groom will still be emotional when you walk down the aisle even if you’ve had a first look!

Megan and Chris are fun, goofy, and full of joy when they are around each other!  What a happy moment this was!

Have you ever seen a more elegant bride wipe the tears from her eyes?!  Renee was full of emotion as she heard the toasts at her reception in honor of both she and Kevin.

It was a beautiful moment when Lindsey had a first look with her horse, Graham.  She also had her florist create this amazing wreath for him!

Lauren and Justin wrote letters for each other to read before their ceremony.  It was fun watching them go from laughter to tears and back to laughter again as they read on opposite sides!

Lauren also had such a special dance with father at her Fauquier Springs Country Club reception!  Watching them together brought tears to our eyes as well!

Alex was overwhelmed when he saw his lovely bride, Kristen for the first time in the formal gardens at Airlie.  And his vows expressed the sweetest and deepest of sentiments!

I hope you have enjoyed these special moments and are perhaps inspired for your own wedding day!
