Bridal sessions are becoming popular once again as brides are choosing to have this private time carved out of their engagement season. A bridal portrait session allows a beautiful bride the opportunity to prepare for her Big Day with a private session devoted to her. Bridal portraits do not always happen at golden hour on the wedding day, in fact they usually occur much earlier in the day’s timeline. So a bridal portrait session months prior to the big day provides those gorgeous images in the prettiest light of the day.

We can also have free reign of the venue to photograph in areas private and unpopulated. I also recommend pairing the bridal portrait session with the trial hair and make up session booked with a bride’ hair and make up professional. And of course, I highly recommend speaking to your florist about designing a special bouquet for the bridal portrait session. I also photograph bridal sessions in both film and digital format…even for brides who have booked a fully digital wedding package! Bridal Portraits also make the perfect wedding day surprise for your groom! And I promise not to share them with anyone until after the Big Day!

THE PERFECT Gift

"Bridal portraits make the perfect gift to yourself and your groom. They give you the opportunity to see yourself in images before the wedding day without the crowds and in the prettiest light of the day. And what a wonderful surprise gift for your groom!"

Walden Hall Bridal Portraits

"Walden Hall offers a literary-inspired space named after Henry David Thoreau’s famous Walden. At Walden Hall, the grounds are lush and green and the fainting room in the Walt Whitman Suite is a perfect place for bridal portraits as well as bridal boudoir.

A FEW OF my MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT
Bridal Portraits

What if it rains on my scheduled day?

No one wants rain on their bridal portrait day! So let's reschedule. I schedule bridal portraits on weekdays during golden hour.

Are bridal portraits really that important?

A thousand times YES! A bridal portrait session provides the opportunity for a bride to prepare for her Big Day with a private session devoted just to her. Bridal portraits do not always happen at golden hour on the wedding day, so a session months prior to the big day provides those gorgeous images in the prettiest light of the day. And they make the BEST surprise wedding day present for the groom! Be sure to search the blog for "bridal" to see many more.

Do you recommend vendors for hair and make up?

Yes I do! I have a wonderful and exclusive list of preferred wedding professionals. I highly recommend using your trial run for your bridal portrait day and coordinate it with a date after your fitting. We can work at making sure the timing is just right.
