THE VENUE GUIDE
There are so many advantages to a more intimate wedding. First, you can invest in truly hosting your closest family and friends (the ones who will still be around a decade from now). You can invest in the most important aspects of the day (like exquisite photography!). You can go at a slower pace and enjoy relaxed and gorgeous images from your calm and smooth flowing day.
You also have the advantage of planning for your space in a way that makes sense for your guest count. And there are so many special small wedding venues in Virginia ready to host your intimate affair.
I'm featuring just a few of my favorites on this page, but there are oh so many intimate wedding venues in Virginia. Be sure to check the venue report and wedding wire for more options.

Pearmund Cellars in Fauquier County is a lovely small winery where you can host your intimate wedding day amongst the vines. There are all kinds of photo ops there so it serves as a perfect location for an engagement session as well.

The Pink Dodwood is a lovely intimate venue at the home of a florist. Your florals can come as part of the package. There is also a set of train tracks behind the property where the occasional train might make a visit.
Absolutely! If the venue has the space for it, then make it easier by getting ready there. Or at least meet me there for the final touches. If you get ready off site, just wait to put on the dress until you get there.
My favorite locations for family portraits will depend on lighting. If possible, I will do a site visit prior to the wedding day to determine some of the best spots. I especially take note of backgrounds and lighting. When we work on your timeline and you complete your group shots lists, we will have a good idea as to the best time and pace.
I work very closely with you and your wedding planner to ensure that you start your ceremony with enough time for the images prior as well as time for golden hour portraits and a steady reception start time. Before you set a start time, let's chat about sunset for your time of year and your wedding day priorities. View a perfectly time wedding day HERE.
No one wants rain on their wedding day! But if it does rain, your day will still be perfect and your images will be stunning! I have photographed on rainy days and as long as you have a plan B in place prior to the day, your day will still be as lovely as ever. A thousand times YES! A bridal portrait session provides the opportunity for a bride to prepare for her Big Day with a private session devoted just to her. Bridal portraits do not always happen at golden hour on the wedding day, so a session months prior to the big day provides those gorgeous images in the prettiest light of the day. And they make the BEST surprise wedding day present for the groom! Peruse some of my favorites HERE. And be sure to search the blog for "bridal portraits" to see many more.
Yes I do! I have a wonderful and exclusive list of preferred wedding professionals. I provide all of my booked couples with a comprehensive online bridal guide complete with preferred professionals. I'm glad to help match you with the vendors who could be the perfect fit for your style and budget. Find out more about my process HERE.
