My second engagement session of 2018 took place on private property, as did my first.  There is something just so special about photographing a couple on family property.  Makayla felt right at home there…as did Nick!  And there were so many beautiful spots that just highlighted all the reasons why I love this part of the country.  I could easily envision their wedding day with the edge of the blue ridge mountains off in the distance.  I am seriously praying for no rain on their special day because that few should just be unhindered!

Makayla and Nick first met in high school when Makayla transferred into one of Nick’s classes.  They quickly became friends and after about five months, Nick asked her out on a date (in 2013) and they have been inseparable ever since!

Fast forward three and a half years to November of 2016…

Makayla’s family has always taken a family vacation to Myrtle beach the week of Thanksgiving, and they invited Nick to go along with them. One night while on the trip, Nick took Makayla out to a nice dinner and when they came back he asked her to come down to the beach. When she walked down to the beach, he was standing there with surrounded with candles!  He  got down on one knee and asked her to marry him!  How romantic is that, friends?!  And of course, she said “yes!”

Congratulations on your engagement Makayla and Nick and I can’t wait for your May wedding!!!
