I am so excited about Lauren and Johnny’s Old Town Alexandria, Virginia engagement session as well as their Fall wedding at Marriott Ranch and Rappahannock Cellars. The three of us spent so much time together during out consultation and I was so amazed at how many similarities we shared including some pretty specific things about our relationships! So I was thrilled when they wanted to have their engagement session close to home in Old Town Alexandria. Seriously read their love/proposal story:

Johnny and Lauren actually met nine years ago, introduced by their mutual friend Erica. Erica and Johnny grew up together in Fairfax and Erica and Lauren became instant friends at their first jobs at an architecture firm out of college. Johnny and Lauren would hang out at group events but never spent time together alone.

Johnny first made a move nine years ago when Lauren invited him over to discuss a kitchen renovation. He thought that was code for “Oh she likes me, I’m going to make a move!” Lauren took it to mean, “Hey I want to renovate my kitchen and you are handy!” Seven years, and a whole lot of bad dates later, Lauren finally came to her senses and realized Johnny had all the qualities she was looking for in a guy; smart, caring, funny, charming, family oriented, trustworthy, handy, and an all around wonderful man.

Their first unofficial date alone was at Olley’s Trolley in DC after a friend’s going away party. Two days later Johnny upped his game and took Lauren out to Ruth’s Chris steak house. He showed her a seven year old notepad of his that he found when cleaning out his room. In the notepad it said, “Learn more about Lauren. She seems like a really cool girl. Ask her out on a date.” … and the rest is history. 🙂

And you will have to wait to till the wedding to hear the “rest”!!!
