Our century-old boxwood trees are shaded by holly, magnolia and oaks, which keep the garden cool, comfortable and exquisitely beautiful in every season. The Barn and Ruins

Complete with custom stonework, The Barn is a picture of rustic charm. Inside, the 3,100 sq. ft. space, you'll find soaring reclaimed wood ceilings, grand Palladian windows and a massive stone fireplace. French double doors leading out to a 400-square-foot veranda infuse the room with light and provide added outdoor space for cocktails and seating. The adjacent Ruins are the remains of the stone foundation of an antique bank barn building, now framing a beautiful 3,300 square-foot open-air space.

Should we both get ready at The Inn at Willow Grove?

Absolutely! You can reserve the property for more than just the day of your wedding. So you can take advantage of all the rooms for your bridal party. The ladies can prepare for the day in their cottage and the men can prepare for the day in the groom's cottage.

A FEW OF my MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT photographing WEDDINGS At the inn at willow grove

Where do you recommend taking our family portraits?

My favorite locations for family portraits are right outside the boxwood gardens, behind the cottages and near the inn. However, I'm open for other locations so long as the lighting scenario is complimentary. View a wedding with multiple family portrait locations HERE.

What time should we schedule our ceremony to begin?

I work very closely with you and your wedding planner to ensure that you start your ceremony with enough time for the images prior as well as time for golden hour portraits and a steady reception start time. Before you set a start time, let's chat about sunset for your time of year and your wedding day priorities. View a perfectly time wedding day HERE.

What if it rains on my wedding day?

No one wants rain on their wedding day! But if it does rain, your day will still be perfect and your images will be stunning! I have photographed on rainy days and as long as you have a plan B in place prior to the day, your day will still be as lovely as ever. View a rainy day wedding HERE.

Should a bride consider bridal portraits in advance of the day?

A thousand times YES! A bridal portrait session provides the opportunity for a bride to prepare for her Big Day with a private session devoted just to her. Bridal portraits do not always happen at golden hour on the wedding day, so a session months prior to the big day provides those gorgeous images in the prettiest light of the day. And they make the BEST surprise wedding day present for the groom! Peruse some of my favorites HERE. And be sure to search the blog for "bridal portraits" to see many more.

Do you recommend any other vendors for my intimate Virginia wedding venue?

Yes I do! I have a wonderful and exclusive list of preferred wedding professionals. Many of them are familiar with The Inn at Willow Grove. I provide all of my booked couples with a comprehensive online bridal guide complete with preferred professionals. I'm glad to help match you with the vendors who could be the perfect fit for your style and budget. Find out more about my process HERE.
