When I first met Lauren and Justin, they had hired me for their engagement session.  We went on private property and I had the best time getting to know them, their love of baseball and each other.  It was a wonderful engagement session and although they were planning their wedding in a year and half, Justin’s job did require a bit of patience in planning on the exact date.

So when Lauren contacted me about it being time to book vendors and get the wedding show on the road, I was more than thrilled to be a part of their team.  Again, Lauren and I had a great wedding planning conversation over coffee and then the months leading up to the wedding began!  Lauren did most of her own planning and decor and did an amazing job!  Her mother was so sweet to point out during her reception toast that Lauren had carefully attended to every detail.  She was so organized and seemed to do it effortlessly.  And throughout the day together, I could see that both Lauren and her mom placed a good bit of importance on meaningful details…which of course, I love!

This was a very family oriented wedding…again, tugging at my heart strings!  If you’ll notice, one of Lauren’s bridesmaids has just the sweetest, smiliest baby girl and she was gladly welcomed and included in the photos…which just shows how deeply Lauren values family and friends.  Both Lauren’s mother and Justin’s mother were gracious hosts as well and were an integral part of Lauren’s bridal preparation for the day.  And my, they looked beautiful too!

Lauren was a stunning bride!!! She looked like a modern day princess in her flowing Essence of Australia gown.  She completed her bridal preparations for the day and our portraits of the ladies at Airlie, giving Salon Emage and Style Me Bar plenty of room to help get these ladies prepared.  Then we all traveled to Warrenton Presbyterian Church where the men had already been getting ready.  Lauren had a tearful first look with her father and then she and Justin exchanged letters behind the church sanctuary doors (which I loved!).

When the ceremony began, the church was full of family and friends who witnessed Lauren and Justin tie the knot.  It was a beautiful church with attentive staff.  After a very meaningful ceremony, we went on to Fauquier Springs Country Club for the reception.  Can I just mention that their bridal party was both fun and helpful?!  The speeches and toasts were reflections of Lauren and Justin’s love, their childhood stories and their kindness towards others and family.  And of course, the father/daughter and mother/son dances brought on even more tears…

I loved golden hour with these two because Justin had worked at the country club and was able to help us get to a lovely spot on the green where I saw the sunset splashing colors all over the sky.  Isn’t their chemistry just incredible and so evident in these?  Not only are they now husband and wife, but best friends as well!

The reception was fun and full of laughter. Even grandma got up to dance!  Steve with Sounds Decision kept the dancing alive and Lauren and Justin continued to be the gracious and vivacious hosts they had been all day.

I am ever so thankful to have been a part of their day and to serve Lauren, Justin and their families and friends on such an incredible occasion.  Congratulations Lauren and Justin and thank you for this opportunity!  You are both truly amazing!

So does anyone want to hear their sweet proposal story?!  I wouldn’t mind hearing it again because it’s a good one!

Lauren and Justin met in high school…they were friends for a quite a while before they began dating. After two years of dating, Justin told Lauren that he was taking her out to dinner. While dining, Justin informed Lauren that his grandparents from Ohio were in town visiting. He said they were staying in a luxury hotel in Crystal City and that he wanted to go visit with them for a while. While driving there, Lauren couldn’t help but notice that his phone was receiving non-stop texts.  When they finally pulled up to this beautiful building, Justin took Lauren on an elevator to the penthouse floor and he pointed to a door and told her to go in. When she opened the door the first thing she saw were rose petals everywhere, candles lit, and she heard some whispering around the corner. She walked into a huge room and there was about 50 of their family members and closest friends! When she turned back around to ask Justin what was going on he was already down on one knee with the most beautiful ring in his hands, proposing to the love of his life!
