I always advocate for Bridal portraits prior to the wedding day. Booking this extra session allows a bride the opportunity to prepare for her Big Day with a private session devoted to her. Bridal portraits do not always happen at golden hour on the wedding day. In fact they usually occur much earlier in the day’s timeline. So a bridal portrait session weeks or months prior to the big day provides those gorgeous images in the prettiest light of the day. This Charlottesville Wedding Photographer was thrilled when Emily wanted to book her Rixey Manor Bridal Portraits prior to her wedding day.

While the lovely bride prepares for her session, I love to photograph some of the details…heirloom items of value to the bride, the engagement ring, shoes, etc. Emily had some gorgeous details!

I also recommend booking your wedding day hair and make up artist and ordering a bouquet to pair with your dress. Emily’s hair and make up were perfectly sculpted by Yisell Santos to mirror her wedding day style.

The Joyful, Romantic, Classic Bride

Emily looked absolutely stunning in her Pronovias gown! The lace paired with locally grown florals in her bouquet (thanks to Snake Oak Farm!) helped create the look of an English garden romance.

We had the perfect weather on the day of the Bridal session and that glow doesn’t happen at every wedding day. So it was extra special to see the butterfly garden in bloom with lovely florals to brighten it even more!

The sun was setting behind the swing and we took full advantage! Lush green fields and an amber glow from the sun perfectly framed Emily’s figure.

Each delicate flower complimented the sheer lace of the sleeves. Emily’s perfect ringlets accented her that classic, joyful demeanor.

We watched the sun set over the Blue Ridge and Emily’s veil caught the light, providing a perfect soft glow.

Emily is such a lovely bride and I am so glad that she and Robert have these images to treasure for the rest of their lives and to share with their children and grandchildren. These Rixey Manor Bridal Portraits are the perfect addition to the wedding day!
