I'M MICHELLE LIEB!

IT’S NICE TO MEET YOU

photographer & owner

Hello, friends! I am Michelle, the joyful mother of a faith-filled, funny, and athletic son and wife to my dearest Ben. Ben and I met at work and he proposed quietly...just the two of us! After ten years of life together, we FINALLY had the joy of welcoming our long-awaited baby into the world. After years of failed adoption waiting, infertility, pain and blessing...
he finally arrived!

I took a HUGE leap of faith and left my teaching job to be a full time mom and business owner. I taught high school film and digital photography, AP art history, AP studio art, and functional art. People said I was crazy to give up a job I loved, but after much prayer and late night talks, we were confident this was the right decision for our little family.
My desire was (and still is) to run a business with integrity and joy, forming positive relationships with other wedding professionals and focusing on a select number of clients each year so I can work closely with my couples. I

take on exactly the right number of weddings each year and I believe in being fully present with my clients, just as I am with my family. I want to serve you well. I want to provide you with images that you can look back on and be reminded of your beginning together and your excitement about the future. We still use our wedding images to tell our son stories about loved ones he never had the opportunity to meet, and he loves to see mommy and daddy all dressed up! I know how important these images are and how treasured they will be. And I want this for you too!

My STORY:

THE REASON WHY

I do what I do

I fell in love with photography and art from a very early age.  I first remember my father's hand-developed images and loved to browse through photographs of my mother at the local fruit market in New York, Alaskan wildlife from my dad's travels and early images of a crazy little toddler (yup, that was me) and still later, my baby brother.  My love of the camera never ceased and I went on to receive my bachelor's degree from James Madison University (GO DUKES!) with a major in art with a photography and watercolor concentration...and later, a masters degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, specializing in photography and the book arts.
I bring this background into how I serve my couples and their families and friends. I truly love helping couples feel their very best and even surprising themselves at how stunning they are and how beautiful their love story really is. And I enjoy making parents feel welcomed and bridal parties appreciated. Serving couples and curating treasured fine art images filled with rich memories brings me so much joy!

Gardening

I love growing lots of vegetables and herbs. My son helps too and we enjoy growing, harvesting, preserving and eating our own food. Next season I'll add some images from our garden!

Beautiful Virginia

I love living in Virginia.  I am thankful for the most incredible mountains, valleys, beaches, cities and small town communities.  I am blessed to live near family in such a wonderful state.

Art & Architecture

Art, architecture and art history will always be a part of my life.  In addition to photography, I enjoy watercolor and the paper arts...but these days, mostly teaching art to kids!
